Planter Box – Palette

Finding contentment without the farm, I embarked on a project to build a planter box last weekend for some tomato plants. I was looking to build it on the cheap and have something that I could easily repeat, at least somewhat in the future. To that end I used an wood palette (that was up for recycle purposes) as a source for the wood. Aside from the minor electricity I used, I was out .99 cents for the small brad nails and have enough left for a second box to be constructed.

My wife and I have taken up residence in a townhouse for time being. It is going to be a bit longer before getting farmland of some sort or another. So in the meantime, I am contenting my desire to grow and produce with small bit of gardening on the patio. Granted, a good deal of these plants are just flowers, but there are also tomatoes and herbs.
Horse Trailer

A couple of months ago I purchased a horse trailer. Been a long while since I have had one in my possession. What a different kind of feeling it has made. Kind of hard to explain if you are not a farm/rancher type, but I am going to try to just a bit… but first a bit of background is order.

As I was looking at my blog two things come to my mind. One, is though I have been writing things off and on since late November, especially starting at the first of the year, I have yet to write more then 30 posts. That seems to be just pathetic. Some of it is just getting busy with other things and yet some other part of are you write one entry and then want to hold off before putting another up so soon (at least my thought is to let the few people reading have a chance to read).
Poor Dirt Farmer…

So I am currently re-reading parts of the book entitled The Complete Agrarian Reader, a collection of essays by Agrarians and their opinions on things. Probably the book that first introduced me to the idea. Actually, I should say, that made me realize it was not necessarily a some romantic notion that I alone had, that there were other people with similar thoughts on things.
